How To Prepare for the Conference

Want to know how to prepare for the College Conference? Besides packing your toothbrush and sleeping bag, check out these inspiring ways to get the most out of the conference:

1. Pray

Eph 1:17  That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the full knowledge of Him,

The messages are full of the God-granted revelation of Christ and the church (Matt 16:17-18). Our prayer for everyone coming is that they would see the wonderful Christ and His church. You also should pray. Pray to touch Jesus’ heart for you. Pray that He would shine on you and that you would hear His word. Pray for those you’re going with, and for those who don’t know Him. He works through our prayer. If we pray, the conference will be a time of mighty Divine activity.

2. Read

Eph. 3:3-4  That by revelation the mystery was made known to me, as I have written previously in brief, By which, in reading it, you can perceive my understanding in the mystery of Christ,

In the days leading up to the conference, begin to read through the epistle or topic that the conference will cover. Reading is the quickest way to get an overview of the content and to get more out of your weekend.

3. Expect

Isa. 55:11 So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It will not return to Me vainly, But it will accomplish what I delight in, And it will prosper in the matter to which I have sent it.

Come to the conference expecting God’s word to change you. Though we grow spiritually every day of our lives, we can expect God’s outpoured speaking at conference. As Isaiah says, we are like soil upon which His word comes as rain. Receiving His word enlivens, waters, and makes us grow according to His purpose.

4. Connect

2 Tim. 2:22 But flee youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

Conferences are large gatherings of like-minded people. Take the opportunity to connect with others. You’ll broaden your fellowship and make new Christian friends.
